“When the restrictive law on real estate will be cancelled – says Rivolta confidently – prices will rise because, today, houses demand in St. Moritz is four times the availability. It will become eight times bigger because, recently, additional strong quotas have been introduced in the whole Alta Engadina in order to limit new buildings. This will make prices, already at the stratospheric levels (a square metre here can cost like a little house somewhere else, ed.), increase even more, with a sustained international demand by Americans, Russians, Indians and Arabs, as well as European citizens.”
